Home from school again!

I'm really starting to get over the crappy ice, snow, weather in general. The first two days of school we missed I dealt with. We had to go to school President's Day and now of course, Good Friday. I'm bummed about that one and have already taken a personal day so that I can pack for vacation. We will be leaving for Jamaica Sat. morning at 6:00 a.m. Now, we are offically out of snow make-up days and our corporation does not have snow built in days. So, we have to start on the days at the end of the school year. Originally, we were supposed to get out of school on May 21 (kids), and May 22(teachers). After today, we are now at May 22 (kids), and May 23 (teachers). I'm still okay with ending in that same week, however, if we miss one more day of school we are going to have to start on that next week which means we will probably have to go Memorial Day. That won't make me very happy at all :(

Did you see the Lunar Eclipse??? 2-20-08

Wednesday night was the lunar eclipse. It was awesome! I didn't get to see the whole thing. Apparently when the sun and moon lined up the moon looked orange. That didn't happen until sometime around 11:43. I could not stay awake that long. However, I did get out my magnifying lense and snap some shots of the moon when it was about half and half. It was really cool!

Red Jacket Retreat 2008

Last weekend was the red jacket retreat for Mary Kay. Janice and I had a blast! In order to go to RJR you have to qualify by booking and holding eight classes before you go and booking and holding eight classes when you get back. And the of course, you have to have three or more active team mates. That is what makes you a red jacket in the first place.Meeting these qualifications has done wonders for my business! Here are a few pics of Janice and I with some new friends and also Janice getting to wear a fabulous ring for the weekend for getting in the top three court of sales for our national area....Way to Go Janice!! Also, is a pic of Janice and I getting our graduation certificates. They had an awesome ceremony where we received our certificates, professional framed pictures of Linda (our National) and us, and also an autographed picture of the new G6 (the free car we are currently trying to earn) signed by all of the directors in our area. I can't wait to go back next year!

Kim's baby shower: 2-10-08

Last weekend I threw my friend, Kim, an ultimate baby shower. She is due sometime towards the end of March. Wow! Did she get a lot of cool things! I couldn't have asked for a better turn out. The weather was cold, but the sun was out and so it all turned out okay. I was very pleased with the decorations, food, and of course how happy Kim was. Now all we're missing is baby George.

Jake and Mason

A few weekends ago, I watched the latest addition to the Miller family, baby Jake. He's not such a baby anymore. He's six months now! Where does the time go? Here is a pic of my Grandma and him and then the other one is his big brother Mason. They're a hoot!

wow! It's CRAPPY out!

I can't believe on a day like today that we actually had to go to school. Don't get me wring, I was happy to be there. That means that we don't have to make it up Good Friday ( we are officially going Monday "President's Day" now due to Feb. 1 makeup). If we have anymore snow days and we have to make up Good Friday, then our next option is going after school is supposed to be out. Hopefully tahat doesn't ahppen. I'm ready to out for the summer. I'm hoping we don't have to go anymore days than is scheduled. Anyways, there is tons and tons of ice. We missed out on all the snow forecasts, but they hit it right on the head for ice. I wish I had my camera to take some pics to show of the crazy ice that is developing on the windshield faster tahn we can get it off iwth the wipers, but I don't have my camera. Roger (our yorkie) went ice skating this mornign when Scott let him out this morning. So, Scott decided to take and pick me up from work. What a guy! Tomorrow is supposed to be a half day for the students and we are scheduled for an in-service, but I'm not sure that's going to happen if it keeps up like it is outside now. Does anyone know how that works if we have a two hour delay when we are already scheduled to get out half day?

St. Louis- January 10-12

I was going back through my pictures and I realized I forgot to post some of my pics from that trip. Scott and I got to get away for the weekend. We went and saw the arch! It was very cool. What a feeling being that high up and looking down into the city. We also ate at some of the local restaraunts around the city. There was a little Irish pub that we ate at where I got to eat corned beef and cabbage. It was really good. Friday night we headed to the mall. Upstairs there was a movie theatre where we saw "The Bucket List." What a great movie. It really makes you think about life and puts into perspective how short it really is. I recommend going to see this movie, but be ware...take lots of tissues!

St. Louis at night: a view from our hotel room
