A day in the life of a trucker (2)

On the road again....today I'm traveling with Scott to Wisconsin to deliver a load of insulated walls. We get to go through Chicago and I'm so excited. I've never even gotten to be in the vacinity of Chicago. We'll be traveling through the city at night. Scott said it's pretty neat to see the lights at night. He's taking me over the skyway (road above the city) to see everything! Oh the life of a trucker....always an adventure. Too bad I forgot my camera :)

A day in the life of a trucker

I am currently on the road again in the "bigrig" on the way to Georgia. This was a last minute emergency decision. Scott got a phone call around 3:00 from his panicked dad. "Um, is there anyway you can come get me? I'm in Georgia." Scott, of course, immediately went into question mode. Why? Are you hurt? What's wrong? What's going on? Then the news...."I wrecked the truck. Now I need another one if I'm going to make it to Florida to load by tomorrow." Oh man! Scott's been sick with the stomach flu for the past 24 hours. So, needless to say, he was not thrilled to learn that he had to get on the road for damage control. However, he is happy that no one was hurt and is glad to be able to help out to smooth over the load as quickly as possible. We have to keep our clients on our good side :) So, we are on our way just outside of Brownsville, KY. Roger and I enjoy getting to ride along on occasion. We should be back tomorrow afternoon sometime, so we were glad to accompany Scott on this short voyage. I'm glad it's only a one day trip. So much to get accomplished this week. Main goal: organizing the closets. I can't wait :)
