Talking to old friends
Sometimes I forget how good it is to catch up on old times and the latest gossip. Last night I got to talk to one of my very good friends from college. I haven't talked to her on the phone since I don't remember when. We e-mail each other from time to time but we don't get to talk on the phone or see each other nearly as much as we'd like. Sound familiar? Where does the time go? I tend to be saying that alot lately. Friends and family tend to be making it to the back burner alot faster these days. Between work, mary kay, and helping Scott when I can with his business, I rarely have time to do anything else. So, when I get a chance to answer the phone and hear a familiar voice, my heart melts. It's hard to end the conversation because you find yourself wanting it to last forever (or at least until your voice starts to go or your ear falls asleep). And then, of course, it always ends with "we need to get together." It's almost like it's no longer a choice, but a must. A desperate plea for friendship. So, for those of you I don't get to see or talk to nearly as much as I'd like....I do still love you. I want you to know how much I value your friendship. And, I promise, we really will get to get together sometime...in the future whether it be near or far.

I completely understand how you feel. It is so hard to keep in touch with my friends from high school and college...especially living 2 states away! I usually only get 2 times a year when I am back for more than 2 days, and it is very tiring trying to see everyone in that short time. Of course, it is always worth it in the end. I just try to do my best with phone calls, emails, and (now) the blog!
